Bowel Model with Appendix

Appendicitis is one of the most common surgical pathologies, and appendectomy should be part of every abdominal surgeon's operative repertoire. The trainer replicates in close detail the ileocecal angle with an inflamed vermiform appendix and its mesentery, allowing all stages of the operation to be performed in both open and laparoscopic surgery. It is well suited as a model for mastering the main stage of the procedure.

Skills Trained:

• Dissection of the mesoappendix;
• Application of Roeder loops, a stapler, or clips;
• Placement of purse-string and Z-sutures.
