E.N.D.O. Colonoscopy Training System

The colonoscopy training system is an anatomically realistic model of the lower human torso with the sections of the large intestine and pneumatic simulation of sphincter function.

Polyps, tumors and ulcerations can be placed along the entire length of the intestine.

With polyp models attached, training can cover the endoscopic treatment of polyps, including snare resection and clip hemostasis.

The trainer is designed for use in the horizontal and lateral positions.

Skills trained:

• Development of learning and analytical skills (consolidation and systematization of knowledge);
• Learning the algorithm for performing the manual skills of endoscopic diagnosis of colon pathology;
• Visual identification of the anatomical boundaries of the examined organ sections and physiological narrowings;
• Determining the nosological form of the disease based on the identified macroscopic signs;
• Differential diagnosis of colon diseases;
• Decision-making algorithms in standard and non-standard situations;
• Working with instruments for diagnostic and therapeutic manipulations and operations;
• Practicing hands-on skills in colonoscopy and in diagnostic and therapeutic manipulations and operations. Practical performance of the techniques;
• Targeted biopsy of the mucous membranes and neoplasms of the colon under visual control;
• Removal of neoplastic lesions;
• Performing local hemostasis;
• Selecting the optimal kind and type of endoscope depending on the nature of the planned endoscopic intervention.
