The nasal cavity and paranasal sinus endoscopy trainer is designed to simulate examination of the nasal cavity using endoscopic instruments — a modern method of assessing the condition of the nasal mucosa. The trainer consists of a simulated human head on a stand with a recess for a silicone nasal endoscopy insert.

Skills trained:

• Local anesthesia of the nasal cavity;
• Technique of endoscopic examination of the nasal cavity;
• Orientation among the anatomical structures of the nasal cavity;
• Examination of the septum and the inferior, middle, and superior turbinates;
• Assessment of the color, thickness, and surface characteristics of the nasal mucosa; the presence or absence of discharge and its location, visible anatomical anomalies, polyps, and nasal tumors;
• Stages of sinoscopy;
• Assessment of the patency of the common nasal passages and the condition of the nasopharynx and Eustachian tube openings;
• Endoscopic removal of a foreign body from the nasal cavity
